Lewis Hamilton’s Nightmare at the United States Grand Prix 2024
The star of Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton, saw his chances at the United States Grand Prix 2024 shattered by an accident in the early stages of the race. Starting from P17, Hamilton was making progress but unfortunately got stuck in the gravel, ending his race prematurely.
Meanwhile, championship contender Lando Norris struggled from pole position and couldn’t fend off Max Verstappen, who eventually took the lead as both drivers focused on their own battle in the first corner, allowing Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari to move ahead.
Hamilton, who holds the record for the most wins at COTA, was unable to add another victory to his name after triggering a safety car period with his incident at turn 18 just three laps in. Following several spins, his Mercedes veered out of control into the gravel trap.
Video footage captured the moment Hamilton and his Mercedes slid into the gravel, effectively ending his race. The incident led to a disappointing outcome for the 39-year-old driver.
