**Fernando Alonso Admits Aston Martin’s True Capability Despite Recent Successes**

After competing in the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Circuit, Fernando Alonso expressed his concerns regarding Aston Martin’s performance. Despite driving one of the weaker cars on the grid, Alonso managed to secure an eighth-place finish through exceptional driving skills.

Alonso addressed the media post-race, emphasizing that their recent positive results do not accurately reflect the car’s true potential. He stressed the need for continuous hard work to enhance their competitiveness in future races.

«We’ve earned points in Baku and Singapore, in street circuits where we’ve performed well. However, on standard tracks, our lack of pace becomes evident, and it will be challenging to score points,» stated Alonso.

Acknowledging the team’s limitations, Alonso stated, «We had two decent showings in the last two races, but that doesn’t mask the overall lack of competitiveness in our car. We are aware of this and are focused on improvement. Hopefully, in the next race, we can make progress. Realistically, we should be aiming for 15th or 16th position given our car’s capabilities.»

Alonso also highlighted a conversation with fellow driver Nico, who shared similar sentiments about their team’s standing relative to others on the grid. Alonso concluded, «While some teams may consider themselves the fifth fastest, it’s evident that we are not among that group. This motivates us to work harder towards improvement.»
